Querida Familia y Amigos de DHDC,
We would like to thank you for your shared interest in the Latino community of Southwest Detroit and hope to receive your support of our mission to empower communities by providing human services and community development projects primarily in Southwest Detroit, through collaborations that create opportunities for employment, education, and healthy lifestyles.
Our organization, under the leadership of talented community activists with years of experience and roots in Southwest Detroit, continues to lead initiatives in a culturally appropriate manner targeting the needs of the Latino youth/young adults, families, and individuals in the community developing change in the current social climate of high dropout rates, youth violence, unemployment, a digital divide, lack of childcare resources, and health risks. Our logo, a Manik glyph, symbolizes transformation and entering into a new stage of life. It is our belief that through our integrative approach and wide spectrum of services our customers receive the skills as well as support needed to overcome personal barriers; thereby, guiding them toward realizing their own path while entering into a new stage of life.
We need your support in order to continue to meet these needs. Expansion of our services and the development of new program initiatives are a necessary means in order to empower change and progress. Please make an important tax-deductible contribution for today's youth/young adults, families, and individuals. Your contributions will provide needed support to programs and resources that will help guide people to making positive changes in their lives.
