VisionIT and DHDC Want to Send 100 DHDC Youth to Camp!
Every summer at DHDC about 100 youth ages 6 to 18 attend “day camp” at our facility. At the end of the summer, staff, and youth travel across the state to spend five days at an overnight camp facility that DHDC rents especially for that purpose. For many of our youth it is the first time they will leave Southwest Detroit and have the freedom to do just one thing 24/7: be a kid.
At camp the time is all about being with your friends, with adults you trust and enjoying activities such as swimming, horseback riding, hiking and rock climbing. That’s hard to do in most cities and even harder to do in Southwest Detroit.
This year DHDC, and our partner VisionIT, would like to invite you to use your sponsorship dollars in a new way that immediately impacts individual youth and their families who depend on DHDC programs.
