Executive Director
Introduction
Detroit Hispanic
Development Corporation (DHDC), a non-profit community organization, was
founded in 1997 by Executive Director Angela G. Reyes, a life-long resident
of Detroit. DHDC was established to address the high level of gang violence
in Southwest Detroit through programs designed to meet the unique needs of
this population. Since its founding in 1997 DHDC has developed a wide range
of comprehensive, bilingual services that
reach over 10,000 youth, adults and families annually.

We provide quality,
culturally appropriate programs and services in partnership with education,
business, and the community in order to overcome barriers to employment,
education and healthy lifestyles. We believe that by assisting individuals
to recognize their own strengths and skills they are able to make
life–changing
choices and transform not only their lives, but our community as well. We
know that our greatest strength is our ability to respond to the changing
needs of our community. At DHDC our goal
is to create long-term partnerships that create sustainable change rather
than focus on short-term
visibility.
Sponsorships Support DHDC
We are deeply
thankful for the support of our partners and know that we
owe a great deal
of our success to your generosity and commitment. We
have a challenging year
ahead of us. Our goal is to raise another $200,000
and our future work
depends on your continued support. At DHDC we
involve our corporate
sponsors through several different fundraising and
informational events
during the year in an organization-wide effort to
support and sustain our
programs.
This sponsorship package contains information for our two
signature events
in 2008:
Partnership Breakfast (Previously the Technology Breakfast) - Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation
11th Annual Dream Makers Gala – Friday November 14, 2008 at the Renaissance Center’s Wintergarden.

New Opportunities to Make a Difference
This packet also contains a new series of specific program-based sponsorships created for our partners in 2008. Our hope is that our corporate partners who choose this form of sponsorship will see it as the
beginning of a closer and deeper relationship with the DHDC community, a chance to be in “on the ground floor” of one of our programs in a way that promotes new dialogue between us,
provides greater options for creativity, and most importantly has an even greater impact on our children and families.
We need your support and hope that you will join us as a sponsor. Together we can transform our communities.
