Empowering First-Time Homebuyers in Detroit: DHDC Hosts Another Successful Homebuyer Education Workshop
On May 31st, the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC) hosted another successful Homebuyer Education Workshop for first-time homebuyers in Detroit. The event welcomed local community members eager to take the next step toward owning their own home.
This time, the workshop featured valuable insights from a loan officer with JP Morgan Chase and REALTOR® Julia Mansour, who shared their knowledge on the homebuying process, mortgage options, and how down payment assistance programs work for eligible buyers.
Participants not only learned the basics of getting pre-approved for a mortgage and understanding the role of a real estate agent, but they also received a Homebuyer Education Certificate. This certificate is a powerful tool, as many lenders and assistance programs require it to qualify for down payment assistance in Detroit.
At DHDC, we are committed to providing our community with the resources and knowledge needed to make informed decisions and build a more secure financial future. These workshops are a critical part of that mission, and we’re proud to continue helping Detroit residents navigate the path to homeownership.
Stay connected with DHDC for upcoming first-time homebuyer workshops and other community programs designed to support families, youth, and individuals across Detroit.
