Fantazma Market & Café is bringing a full year of culture, creativity, and community connection to Southwest Detroit. Our 2026 events calendar features signature markets, celebrations, and community gatherings designed to uplift local entrepreneurs, artists, and neighbors, while creating vibrant spaces for them to come together.
From seasonal markets and cultural celebrations to Pride events, Dia de los Muertos, and Small Business Saturday, Fantazma events highlight the diversity, talent, and energy that define our community. Each event offers opportunities to shop local, support small businesses, enjoy food and entertainment, and connect with others who are shaping Southwest Detroit’s creative economy.

Monthly Housing Workshops at DHDC
Buying a home can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to navigate the process alone. DHDC’s Housing Department hosts monthly housing workshops designed to help individuals and families build knowledge, confidence, and readiness for homeownership.
These workshops provide practical guidance on understanding the homebuying process, preparing financially, reviewing required documentation, and learning what first-time homebuyers should expect. Whether you’re just beginning to explore homeownership or actively preparing to buy, our team is here to support you every step of the way.

DHDC is partnering with dermatology professionals to offer free skin checks for the community. Early detection can make a difference — and not all skin cancer looks obvious.
No insurance required, open to all ages, it takes 10 minutes per check, will be free skincare samples and help with follow-up care.
